It’s a rare and delightful surprise to stumble upon a new spot in Corfu town that already exudes such charm and character, as if it has been a favourite local spot for years.
I hadn’t walked around the Corfu old port area for a while (it can be a bit of a tourist trap), so I was very happy to find out about Old Buoy. It’s one of Corfu town’s freshest entry with an all-day offer: brunch and coffee spot, dinner destination and cocktail bar.
The nautical and beachy theme is apparent throught the place, with surf boards serving as accessories. Buoy (pronounced like ‘boy’) is an anchored float serving as a navigation mark.

At the back, there a big patio/garden area that is covered with plants, so it was perfect even on a hot summer day.

We tried the sunny side up eggs which were simple, yet delicious. The coffee wasn’t bad either.
We also shared the peanutbutter tsoureki french toast. It was very moreish, so I definitely recommend it as a shared dessert plate.

The star of the show was the open grilled sandwich with pulled pork. We all gave it a 10/10, especially because of the crunchy rustic bread!
All in all, Old Buoy proved to be a great spot to enjoy brunch or a chilled coffee at the seafront. I can not wait to be back and try the dinner options next time (pastitsada gyoza, I got my eyes on you) !
