Nestled on the west coast of Corfu, Rovinia Beach is a not-so-hidden gem that even many locals cherish for its untouched beauty. As a Corfiot, I’ve explored many corners of this island, but Rovinia holds a special place in my heart.
Where is Rovinia beach?
Rovinia is tucked away in the cliffs near the charming village of Liapades, in the wider area of Paleokastritsa, 20 km west of Corfu town. Accessible only by boat or through a hiking path from Liapades, Rovinia offers crystal-clear waters and a sense of tranquility that’s hard to find elsewhere.
This secluded beach is like a hidden slice of paradise, but has gained a lot of popularity in the recent years. For those seeking a quiet escape, avoid visiting on weekends, especially during the month of August. Some of the best beach days I’ve enjoyed at Rovinia were during hot days in June.

How do I get to Rovinia beach from Corfu?
Step 1: Drive from Corfu town to Liapades village (around 20km). Alternativelly, take the Α10 (Corfu – Liapades) bus from the Green Bus Station in Corfu town, that takes approximately 40 minutes.
Step 2: Once you have reached Liapades, find Vergina Coffee & Bar & Snack, across the road from Athena Supermarket, and turn left.

Step 3: Drive for a couple of minutes and then start looking for somewhere to park on the main road. If your car is 4×4 could ride even further down the road, following the Rovinia signs, where there is a paid parking spot. From there you will still have to walk about 5-10 minutes to reach the beach.

Step 4: Follow the Rovinia beach signs and enjoy a beautyful hike down the hill. There is a trail and it usually takes around 15 minutes to the beachfront. The biggest part of the hike is covered by big trees and beautyful semi-wild nature. Along the way, don’t forget to take photos of beaches on your right side – the pristine and translucent waters view is stunning!

Rovinia is completely unspoiled: there are no beach bars, sunbeds or umbrellas, so come fully prepared for your day there. However, in the summer there is often a small boat canteen that comes and goes throughout the day, offering fruit, snacks, drinks and even ice creams at affordable prices.
I usually stock up on snacks and drinks from the Athena Supermarket nearby.

There is an accessible cave on the far left side of the beach. Don’t forget to explore and feel the (usually) icy-cold waters in this little area.
For those seeking a quiet escape and are fans of pebble-beaches, Rovinia is the perfect destination.
